About the Jr. Conservationist Program
The Jr. Conservationist Program is a do-it-yourself conservation camp hosted by The Pickaway County Park District, Pickaway Soil and Water Conservation District and RPHF Solid Waste District!
Register to participate and be eligible for a free hat and button! All you have to do is complete the required number of activities from each topic category below. Take photos of yourself doing the activities or completed projects and upload your photos HERE to be eligible for a free button and hat! 2022 program year will begin April 1st and you will have until October 1st to complete your activities! We will send you a certificate for free via mail upon completion of the program. Your hat and button will be available for pick up after you receive your certificate from either the Park District Office at 548 Lancaster Pike in Circleville or the Pickaway Soil and Water Office at 110 Island Road Suite D in Circleville.
Time to get outside, explore and learn!

- Leaf ID
- What Part of the Plant are You Eating?
- Leaf Color Art
- Research on your own and plant one: Container/Tree/Garden/ Veggies/Native Plants/Pollinator Garden. Observe and record the growth of what you planted.

- Pollinators (do the activity then go look for pollinators in action!)
- Insects Habitat Hunt
- DIY Mosquito Trap
- Bees – Use this Bee Guide to Learn about Bees then go out and try to ID Bees around your home or local park
- Birds (Identify 5 birds you see/hear using a key/App)
- ID Mammal Tracks using this activity, then look for tracks in the outdoors
- Research on your own and make one: Bird House/ Bee House/ Butterfly Waterer
- Attend a Park District Summer Program related to animals
- Invasive Species Attack! – Learn about what is an invasive Here and then research and look for invasives that live in your backyard or local park. Bonus watch this video on invasives
